Iran Press/ Iran News: Speaking at the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus on Saturday, President Hassan Rouhani stated: "People need to be aware that this epidemic (COVID-19) is long and there is no clear end to it, and we may have a long time to produce a vaccine."
"The further we go, the clearer the dimensions of the virus become for us," Rouhani said.
"Initially, it was said that the virus would be eliminated as the weather warmed up, but we see that the heat did not affect the virus," the President highlighted.
Rouhani: Iran's science ranking is 15th in world
"The medical staff has made great efforts and today Iran is ranked 15th in the world and first in the region and the Islamic world in science. which is one of our honors," said Rouhani.
Referring to Iran's medical achievements, he said: "Everyone knows that in the past the Iranian people were on their way to Europe or the United States for treatment, but today many Iranians and non-Iranians are on their way to Iran for treatment."
"From the distant past and recently, our healthcare sector has always been considered in the world and has been one of our honors," he added.
Rouhani also called for the opening of the businesses vie applying health protocols.
The President added: "Today in Iran, two drugs are used to treat coronavirus, which is somewhat effective, and we hope that scientific and research work will continue in other areas."
