Why it matters:
According to the World Health Organization, there have been 28 attacks on hospitals in Gaza over the past week. This number represents 4 percent of all attacks on hospitals since the war began on October 7, 2023. Additionally, the Gaza Health Ministry announced that approximately 400,000 people in the area have been deprived of any medical services.
The big picture:
The World Health Organization reported that more than 10,000 patients, including 4,500 children, need to be evacuated from the Gaza Strip to continue their treatment. Children in the Gaza Strip are facing constant bombardment and are deprived of basic services, medical care, and essential needs.
Key point:
- UNICEF stated that the situation has worsened over the past two months due to the blockade against the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
- Following the Israeli regime's attacks since October 7, 2023, the total number of martyrs has increased to more than 53,000, and the number of injured exceeds 122,000.
- After a two-month fragile ceasefire, the Israeli army resumed its military operations in Gaza on March 18. Despite the widespread crimes committed by the Israelis in Gaza, the regime has not yet achieved its goals of destroying Hamas and releasing its prisoners.
