Iran Press/Iran news: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has sent a message to the newly elected UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Sunday, offering his congratulations to him on his election as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.
He further expressed hope that Tehran-London ties would further develop during his term, Iran Press reported citing the Iranian Presidency official website.
“I hope that Your Excellency’s familiarity with relations between Iran and the United Kingdom, and your only one visit to Tehran greatly contribute to removing the existing obstacles on the path of development of relations between the two countries, and we witness further deepening of bilateral and multilateral relations during your tenure as the Prime Minister,” the message read.
Boris Johnson has become Britain’s prime minister after he was elected as the leader of the Conservative party on July 23, defeating Jeremy Hunt in the party’s leadership contest. 203/214
