Iran Press/Asia: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani arrived in Yerevan on Monday night.
He is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and also Singapore leader in the union's summit in Armenia.
Rouhani’s first meeting will be with Armenian President Armen Sarkissian.
Prior to his departure, the President said: “We need to have the economic power that helps us compete, and joining this union is a practice for economic power in the region.”
The Eurasian Economic Union includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia. Numbers of other countries including Iran, Singapore, Moldavia, and Vietnam are in the process of joining the union.
