At least two rockets were fired at Camp Taji military airbase housing US army personnel north of Iraq's capital Baghdad as the million march call for the immediate expulsion of American troops is gaining momentum, local sources and political circles said.

Iran Press/Middle East: The late Tuesday attack which reportedly had no casualty came less than a week after rockets landed close to the US base al-Balad 60 kilometers north of Baghdad, according to Iraqi military statements.

In the meantime, the leader of the Sadrist Movement Muqtada al-Sadr has called for massive demonstration across Iraq demanding immediate withdrawal of US forces from the Arab country.

His call for troops expulsion has been positively met by Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) locally known as Hashd al-Shaabi as well as political parties including the parliamentary group Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq "League of the Righteous".

The popular demand for US military's exit from Iraq was endorsed nationally when lawmakers in the first Parliament session held after assassination of Iran's top counter-terrorism commander Lt. General Qasem Soleimani and PMF leader on January 3 passed it into legislation.

Iran also retaliated shortly firing a barrage of missiles at US bases in Iraq.
