Riyadh (IP): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia condemned the repeated desecration of Islamic sanctities and demanded to prevent it.

Iran PressMiddle East: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia in a statement on Saturday night condemned the failure by responsible governments to take measures to prevent the recurrence of incidents of desecration of Islamic holy places, the latest of which was the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran by an extremist group in Denmark, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

In this statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia warned against the repetition of these provocative actions against the feelings of millions of Muslims around the world and declared that these actions are a clear violation of all international laws and norms.

On Friday, members of the Islamophobic and far-right nationalist group called "Dansk Patriot" (Danish Patriot) burned a copy of the Holy Quran in front of the Iraqi embassy in Copenhagen, Denmark.

On Thursday, Selvan Momika, a 37-year-old Iraqi refugee living in Sweden, insulted the Holy Quran just a few weeks after burning pages of the Holy Quran outside the Stockholm mosque.

The desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden and Denmark has been widely condemned in recent months and many demonstrations and gatherings have been held against it.
