Eshaq Jahangiri (R) and Jameel Jabagh (L)

Iran's First Vice President stressed that the resistance of the Lebanese people and government has stopped the enemies from achieving their aims.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking on Monday afternoon in a meeting with the public health minister of Lebanon, Jameel Jabagh, Iran's First Vice President, Es'haq Jahangiri, referred to numerous and repeated Israeli army incursions into Lebanon, and violations of Lebanon's airspace, and the silence of the international community vis-a-vis these incursions.

Jahangiri reiterated that what has stopped the enemies from achieving their objectives has been the steadfast resistance of the Lebanese people and government.

Commenting further Es'haq Jahangiri said: "Lebanon's impressive advancement in recent years, despite pressures from the outside, has guaranteed security within the country and the wider region."

He added: "The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to expand cooperation and trade between Tehran and Beirut in all areas, including in Healthcare and Medical Treatment.  Despite 40 years of sanctions and pressures from the United States, Iran's progress has been impressive because we have relied entirely on our own human resources, abilities, and talents."

The first vice president added: "Today Iran is virtually self-sufficient in the production of pharmaceutical drugs, medicines, and hi-tech medical equipment, and only a tiny fraction of medicines and medical equipment that we need is imported from abroad. The pharmaceutical drugs, medicines, and medical equipment that we manufacture are of very high quality, comparable to the best in the world, and very competitively priced. We are prepared to expand cooperation in the field of healthcare and the medical sciences with Lebanon."

For his part, the public health minister of Lebanon, Jameel Jabagh, said "the Islamic Republic has a special place in the hearts of the people of Lebanon, and that Lebanon is on the frontline of defending Iran. Jabagh appreciated and thanked Iran for its comprehensive support of the Lebanese government and people."

Lebanon's public health minister also referred to his visits to hi-tech biotechnology firms, pharmaceutical drug manufacturers and medical equipment manufacturers in Iran and said Lebanon is ready to expand its healthcare cooperation with the Islamic Republic.
