Iran Press/ Iran news: The Asiatic cheetah( in the Persian language "Yooz Palang") is a critically endangered cheetah subspecies currently only surviving in Iran. The Asiatic cheetah survives in protected areas in the eastern-central arid region of Iran, where the human population density is very low. Between December 2011 and November 2013, 84 individuals were sighted in 14 different protected areas, and 82 individuals were identified from camera trap photographs.
Ali Selajegheh, the Vice President and Head of the Environmental Protection Organization of Iran, said: "Iran" cheetah's babies were born at the Iranian Cheetah Breeding Center in Turan, located in Semnan province.
He added: "Due to the presence of an experienced veterinary team, three Iranian cheetah puppies were born healthy in this field cesarean delivery."

The Vice President continued: "The initial veterinary measures of the Iranian female Cheetah have been carried out and the mother and puppies are now normal and under further intensive care."
According to Selajegheh, less than 20 cheetahs have been observed in seven provinces of Semnan, Kerman, Yazd, Razavi, North and South Khorasan, which is the primary habitat of cheetahs to date.
Cheetahs give birth to two to six cubs in each pregnancy and this process, in turn, is very important for the preservation of such genetically essential species. The Environmental Protection Agency is to plan for the monitoring and protection of natural habitats of cheetahs in the country.
Before this, the Environmental Protection Agency had announced that considering the mating time of Iran and Firooz (male and female cheetahs), we think that the birth will take place on the 10th of Ordibehesht in Persian Calendar(30 April 2022 ).
