Iran Press/Iran News: The Spokesman for Iran Ministry of Foreign Affairs Saeed Khatibzadeh said on Thursday: "With intensive diplomatic efforts in Tehran, Vienna and the capitals of all members of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), especially three European countries, as well as China and Russia, raising the resolution in the IAEA was rejected."
Explaining today's transformation in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Saeed Khatibzadeh added: "Today's transformation can maintain the path of diplomacy opened by Iran and the IAEA and pave the way for the full implementation of commitments by all the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) parties."
Khatibzadeh stressed: “Iran hopes that the JCPOA-involved parties will be able to use this opportunity along with serious cooperation to ensure the full implementation of the JCPOA by all.”
French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian claimed that a resolution proposed by Britain, France, and Germany criticizing Iran's reduction of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) would be put to the vote the IAEA Board of Governors in the coming days.
In response to the malpractices and sabotage of the European troika, including the European Commission, the International Monetary Fund, and the European Central Bank, the Islamic Republic of Iran also warned that it considered adopting such a resolution against the country “unconstructive.”
Iran and the IAEA have agreed to suspend implementing the Additional Protocol and the access under the JCPOA in Iran altogether.
On February 23, Iran suspended voluntary action under the JCPOA under a law passed by Iran’s Parliament dubbed as “Strategic Action to Lift Sanctions and Protect the Rights of the Iranian Nation."
