President Putin in a speech broadcast by Russia 24 said there have been instances of agreements, reached through years of efforts in cooperation with many countries that have been rejected by one country in less than an hour.
The president, who was addressing the Russian envoys in the international organizations, explicitly said that he was referring to the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal signed by Iran and the major world powers in 2015.
The US President Donald Trump pulled out of the agreement in May, calling it the worst deal ever.
In the current situation, Russia is trying to save the vital agreement and to prevent escalation in the Middle East, Putin said, referring to the Iran nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
On Tuesday, Putin said in an interview with another Russian broadcaster that Moscow's stance in support of the nuclear agreement, had not been changed.
The highest number of inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency has been conducted in Iran, he said.
