Iran Press/ Europe: According to the Kremlin Press office, in Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolas Maduro in a telephone conversation described the measures and plans approved by the international community to fight against COVID-19 or better said the newly born global challenge as important ones.
The leaders of Russia and Venezuela also stressed the implementation of Putin’s proposed plan of the halt of the trade wars, sanctions as well as sending medicine and food items and equipment.
In the event, some issues of cooperation between Russia and Venezuela and the strengthening of strategic partnerships between the two countries were discussed in the first place in the field of trade and economy.
The Russian president stressed Moscow's support for Venezuela's legitimate government for the peaceful settlement of internal political disputes, relying on national talks in the country.
Putin also called foreign intervention in Venezuela’s internal affairs as 'destructive and unacceptable'.

In the end, the two sides agreed to continue contacts at various levels between the two countries, including through the Ministry of Health.
Although Venezuela has long faced US sanctions and severe shortages of medicine and food, it has been able to do relatively well in curbing the spread of corona and has taken effective measures in this regard.
