Anti-war demonstrators gathered in San Francisco, California, and London, UK on Tuesday, calling on their governments not to go to war with Iran.

Iran Press/America: The 'Answer Coalition' organised the protests in San Francisco and ‘Stop the War Coalition’ organised the protests outside Downing Street in London on Wednesday evening to urge their respective governments not to attack Iran.

The demonstrators in London and San Francisco chanted slogans saying 'No War with Iran', Iran Press reported.

Patricia Gorky, from the 'Answer Coalition' who organised the event in the US, said: "The United States wants a war with Iran because Iran represents a country which is charting an independent course from US imperial interest. Iran does not fall into line when it comes to supporting Palestine or the Houthis in Yemen, who are fighting against a brutal Saudi attack. Iran represents a country who overthrew the US-backed dictator."

Speakers at the event in London urged the protesters to lobby their MPs and to tell Boris Johnson & Jeremy Hunt they “won’t stand for them going to war”. One claimed Downing Street refused to accept a letter written by some of the activists.

The ‘Stop the War Coalition’ is set to hold two more anti-war events on June 29 and July 16 in the UK.
