Islamabad (IP) - Jamaat-e-Islami, the country's oldest and largest political party, staged a protest in Islamabad against the results of the recent general elections in Pakistan. A large number of people participated in the demonstration and Jamaat-e-Islami workers raised slogans against the alleged rigging of the elections and refused to recognize the results.

Iran Press/Asia: Addressing the demonstration, the demonstrators said that the entire nation is shocked and worried about the results of the February 8 elections.

On this occasion, Deputy Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaquat Baloch said while addressing the demonstration that every election is rigged more than before, the election of 2024 was rigged, and the fourth and fifth-ranked candidates were declared successful so  Jamaat-e-Islami rejected rigged elections.

He further said, "Election Commission has failed to protect the democratic rights of the people so the Chief Election Commissioner should resign immediately."

Mr Baloch accused the Caretaker governments as well for such results. He said, "The Caretaker Governments have been facilitating electoral rigging in elections so the Chief Justice of Pakistan should form a judicial commission on these elections."

He said that national leadership should sit together, otherwise, Pakistan will suffer more. 204
