Quds (IP) - The preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque said that the first Qibla of Muslims continued to be burnt in different forms after 1969, stating that it is necessary to support the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Iran PressMiddle East: At the suggestion of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the agreement of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the anniversary of the burning of the Al-Aqsa Mosque on August 21, 1969, has been named World Mosque Day and also the Mosque Week.

On the occasion of the anniversary of the burning of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh "Ikrama Sabri" the Imam of Al-Aqsa mosque, addressed the Arab and Islamic world in an exclusive interview with an Iranpress correspondent in Quds, stating that it is necessary to support the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque stated that the fire is still burning in Al-Aqsa Mosque and the form of the Zionists' attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque, digging and expulsion of Palestinian youths from this mosque continues.

Saying that Al-Aqsa Mosque is the first Qibla of Muslims, Sheikh "Ikrama Sabri" emphasized that Al-Aqsa Mosque is not only for the people of Palestine but for all Muslims worldwide.

The Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque said that protecting the first qibla of Muslims is a joint Islamic responsibility and asked the Arab and Islamic governments should support and defend the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
