Tehran (IP) - Iran's first vice president Mohammad Mokhber announced King Salman's invitation to President Raisi to visit Riyadh and said: "Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has favorably received an invitation from Saudi Arabia's King Salman to visit the kingdom and hopefully good things will happen."

Iran PressIran News: Saudi Arabia has invited Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi for an official visit - just over a week since the countries agreed to restore diplomatic relations.

Mokhber stated: Mr. Raisi's main strategy since the first day he was elected as the president has been to improve relations with the countries of the region.

He added: The is a pre-planned visit, which is being done now.

During the negotiations between Iran and Saudi Arabia in Beijing, the two countries agreed on Friday, March 10, to resume diplomatic relations after 7 years.

According to the agreement between the two countries, the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia will meet each other for a maximum of two months to pave the way for the exchange of ambassadors and the reopening of embassies, as well as other requirements for the resumption of relations.
