Ilam (IP) - The storage dam of Ilam, called Cham Gardalaan in Kurdish, is built on Konjancham river, located 22 kilometers south of Ilam, a western Iranian province that borders Iraq.

Iran PressIran news: The dam went into operation in 2000, with a storage capacity of 71 million cubic meters.

Now, the dam has been filled up to 90 percent and there is a danger of overflow.

Due to its beautiful and spectacular nature, the region is full of tourists who travel to this place in all seasons and all year round.

Konjancham river originates from the Sivan mountains in southern Ilam and connects to the Gavi river after flowing for a distance of 12-km of the border between Iran and Iraq, near the western town of Mehran.
