Tehran(IP) - In a statement, Iran's Petroleum Minister emphasized the crucial role played by the oil industry in the country.

Iran PressIran news: Javad Owji, a prominent figure in the industry, further highlighted that significant strides have been made to enhance oil and gas production.

He stated that the oil industry has become one of the most important sectors, contributing to over 96% of the country's energy resources.

With unwavering support from the government and parliament, the minister highlighted that substantial measures have been implemented as part of the 7th development plan.

The minister also announced that the eleventh phase of South Pars will be inaugurated in the coming days. He expressed his commitment to fostering an environment conducive to optimization within the industry.

Owji revealed that current oil production has reached an impressive 3.2 million barrels, while gas production is 1 billion cubic meters.

Furthermore, he emphasized that there is a capacity to produce more than 3.8 million barrels daily.

Addressing last year's unfinished oil projects worth $15 billion, Owji disclosed plans to put $12 billion worth of projects into operation this year. This strategic move is expected to boost gas, oil, and petroleum product production significantly.

The minister stressed that optimizing consumption will be pivotal in addressing energy imbalances. He highlighted that there are currently $36 billion worth of projects under consideration by the Economic Council for optimization across various sectors.

With these developments and initiatives underway, it is evident that the oil industry continues to be a driving force behind economic growth and stability in our country.
