Tehran (IP) - The literary figure says the real geography of the Persian Language is vast and beyond the borders of just a few countries.

Iran PressIran news: Today (15th of May) is the day of commemoration of the famous Iranian poet, Ferdowsi.

Ferdowsi was born in 940 CE in Tous, Iran, an ancient city near modern-day Mashhad. Little is known about his early life. It is believed that Ferdowsi came from an aristocratic family, had a wife from the same social class, and a son, whose death at the age of 37 is mourned in his masterpiece, Shahnameh.

Speaking in the commemoration ceremony held on Monday on the occasion of the Day of Ferdowsi, the Afghan permanent member of Persian Language and Literature Mohammad-Sarvar Molaee said that each of the poets born anywhere in the past centuries was not affiliated to a special country like Tajikistan or Iran, but to Persian language and culture.

He stressed that the Persian-language-culture nations should follow the tradition and recognize the literary figures as the Persian ones.

"Today, we must embed the fact in textbooks and teach our children that Persian language geography is not limited to the current political geography," Molaee said and went on "we can accompany each of these famous poets in these realms with two words of [poem or prose], taking our children them with us on this journey and keep a great feeling inside."
