Aleppo (IP) – A number of families of Syrian martyrs planted trees in the central park of Aleppo, northern Syria, to keep their memory alive.

Iran PressMiddle East: Fifteen families of martyrs, each of whom sacrificed more than two martyrs in the war with ISIS terrorists in Aleppo in dedication to their homeland and preserving the territorial integrity of Syria, planted trees in the central park of Aleppo and installed the pictures of their martyrs on these trees in their memory.

The mother of the two martyrs told the Iran Press reporter: "My husband and my son loved martyrdom and were martyred in this holy way and the freedom of the homeland."

She added: "This tree is named after my husband and my child."

Sheikh Habib Mullah Hafji, one of the active Sunni sheiks of Aleppo, told the Iran Press reporter on the sidelines of the tree planting ceremony in the name of martyrs that 15 trees were planted in the name of 15 families of martyrs, and these martyrs, God willing, will be our intercessors on the Day of Judgment.

This Sunni Sheikh underlined that planting a tree in memory of the martyrs coincides with the days of the liberation of Aleppo, and this important work was achieved with the blood of the martyrs.

He noted that the memory of the martyrs of Aleppo is alive, their blood was shed in this land and the soil of Aleppo is mixed with the blood of the martyrs, and if it were not for them, this land would have been looted.

On December 14, 2016, the strategic city of Aleppo was liberated from the ISIS occupation. During the liberation of Aleppo, various programs are on the agenda, and among them, the memory of the martyr Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani is also honored.

Martyr Soleimani, the late IRGC Quds Force commander, had a critical role in defeating ISIS in Iraq and Syria with the cooperation of the resistance axis, the Syrian army, and the Iraqi army.
