Iran Press/Iran news: Basiji forces along with Khuzestan people, by strengthening the flood straps prevented water from entering Ahvaz.
The waters of the Karun River have entered some of the neighbourhoods and streets of Ahvaz city since Sunday evening.
Ahvaz road to Abadan is also closed due to floods, Iran Press reported.
A bridge at the entrance of Ahvaz has also been submerged and the Ahvaz-Andimeshk transit road has been cut off.
Iran's Interior Minister Abdol Reza Rahmani Fazli arrived in Khuzestan province on Monday and visited some flood-hit areas.
IRGC Quds Force Commander Major General Ghasem Soleimani visited the flood-hit Khuzestan province with a group of officials responsible for the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
Soleimani urged the youth to help the people of the Khuzestan province. 101/202
