Tehran (IP) - The spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Palestinian nation has the right to defend itself and the Resistance in the region won't turn a blind eye to the Zionist barbaric attacks on Gaza.

Iran Press/ West Asia: Nasser Kanaani, spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in his weekly press conference on Monday said: "The act of Resistance was a natural right to respond to the crime of the Zionist regime and provocative actions against the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the prisoners held by the Zionist regime. The Palestinian Resistance groups are supported by the Palestinian people."

Zionist commits War Crimes in Gaza

Emphasizing that Resistance is the right to defend the Palestinian people, he said: "What happened was a gross military intelligence and security failure of the Zionist regime, and to compensate for the failure, it used all its power to confront the Palestinian nation. What is happening in Gaza is a war crime, cutting off water and electricity and preventing the entry of food and medicine is against human rights."

Resistance won't turn a blind eye to Zionist crimes

Kanaani further added: "We are witnessing the presence of the nations of the world in support of the Palestinian nation. The continuation of this barbaric approach can inflame the atmosphere of the region and get the situation out of control. The Palestinian nation has the right to defend itself, and the regional Resistance will not turn its eyes on the Zionist's crime."

OIC Emergency meeting to be held in Jeddah on Wednesday

The Extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will be held on Wednesday this week at the level of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jeddah, said the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Nasser Kanaani added: "President Raisi, also used the capacity of the Islamic Republic of Iran diplomacy and made positive conversation with the high-ranking officials of some countries, and as a result of the discussions, the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation was decided to be held on Wednesday at the level of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jeddah."

Kanaani further stated: "A significant number of foreign ministers voiced their readiness to attend this meeting, and it is a good opportunity for the attention of Islamic countries to be specially directed towards developments in Palestine, and Iran's diplomatic efforts in this regard will continue."

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs went on to say: "Documenting these crimes is a necessity and international organizations and non-governmental organizations can play their role in this regard. In the near future, these documentations can be seriously pursued so that the Zionist criminals are tried in international courts."

The spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the regional trip of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian was in line with Iran's support for the Palestinian people, and stated: We had a meeting with the officials of the neighboring countries and the leaders of the Resistance groups during this trip, which was done in order to end the war crimes of the Zionist regime.

Israel War not against Hamas but against the Palestinian nation

The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the current war is not a war between two military forces nor it is against Hamas but rather it is against the oppressed nation and citizens of Palestine.

Speaking in his weekly Presser on Monday morning, The Spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said:

"We believe that the main reason for the crisis in the region is the occupation and the formation of an illegitimate and fake regime. As long as the principle of occupation exists in the region and some people support it, there will be a crisis."

"The Islamic Republic of Iran recognizes the rights of the Palestinian people and supports them" Nasser Kanani further noted.

He added: "Those who seek international peace and security should pay attention to the root of the crisis in the Middle East."

Kanaani stressed: "The current war is not the Zionist regime's war against Hamas, but there are many Palestinian resistance groups, all of whom see resistance as the only way to achieve their rights and land. This war is not a war between two military forces, it is against the oppressed nation and citizens.

He concluded: "Unfortunately, this is not the first time that the Zionists use prohibited weapons. There are countries in international forums that use influence and power to prevent the pursuit and trial of this matter."
