Iran Press/ Europe: This year’s festival focuses on cinema from Southeast Europe and the South Caucasus, with 54 films from 21 countries competing in four categories: feature film, short film, documentary, and student film.
At the opening ceremony, Sarajevo Film Festival director Jovan Marjanović remarked, "This year, we celebrate three decades of uninterrupted activity at the Sarajevo Film Festival. From the very beginning, our vision has been to look to the past to build bridges and create a better future."
He praised Elia Suleiman as someone who uses the universal language of cinema to speak about human values and emotions such as fear, hope, home, and homeland.
The Sarajevo Film Festival is a significant cultural and artistic event in the Balkans, attracting numerous prominent figures from the film industry, cinematic productions, and tourists from around the world each year. This cultural event will continue until August 23rd.
