Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has firmly stated that Palestine will not agree to Russia's exclusion from the Middle East peace process.

Iran PressEurope: In an interview with TASS First Deputy Director-General Mikhail Gusman, following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Abbas emphasized that Russia "has always sought and is seeking ways for a peace solution" and is committed to finding "a just solution to the Middle East issue in accordance with international law."

Abbas noted that the United States has consistently aimed to exclude Russia from the peace process. "Under no circumstances shall we agree to Russia's exclusion from any Middle East settlement platform, because it takes a truly fair position on the Middle East issue based on international law," he stated.

He elaborated that by "just solution," he meant that while Russia recognizes the state of Israel, it also insists on the establishment of Palestine within the 1967 borders. "This is Russia's position, which it adheres to at the UN, in the Security Council, and in the General Assembly. Its stance on this issue is firm and clear," Abbas summarized.

Israel waged the war on Gaza on October 7 after Hamas carried out Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

The tension in the region is becoming deteriorating every day and the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas's political office in Tehran, has added to these tensions.
