Pakistan (IP) – Pakistan's Department of Tourism, Archeology, and Museums is seeking to improve relations with Iran.

Iran PressAsia: A prestigious event was held in Lahore, Pakistan, to promote tourism cooperation between Pakistan and Iran, in which Pakistan's Minister of Tourism, Archeology and Museums, Asif Bilal Lodhi, and a number of relevant Iranian officials, including Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, Handicraft participated as well as tour operators. 

There, in the event, ways to promote tourism between the two countries were addressed, and significant attractions were highlighted for the interest of the public. 

Iranian Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Ezzatullah Zarghami saw the stalls of Pakistani handicrafts and hailed their works of art.

Ezzatullah Zarghami said that tourism is among the priorities of the Iranian administration, saying that last year, 242,000 Pakistanis visited Iran, while more than 65,000 Iranians came to Pakistan.

Pakistani Provincial Health Minister Javed Akram said Pakistan and Iran can strengthen mutual relations by promoting tourism.

Also, Iranian Consul General Mehran Movahdfar and Director General of Khane Farhang Iran (Iran House of Culture) in Lahore Jafar Ronas highlighted tourism as a priority of the Iranian administration.

Traditional Iranian and Pakistani food was also served to the participants at the event.
