Iran Press/ Asia: Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani visited the Islamic Republic of Iran embassy in Islamabad and condoled with Iranian Ambassador Raza Amiri Moghadam and diplomatic staff.
He expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of President Syed Ibrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Amir Abdullahiyan, and their companions and considered it a great loss to the Muslim Ummah. Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani also recorded his message in the condolence book kept at the embassy.
While talking to the Iranian media, the Acting President of Pakistan and Chairman Senate Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said, "I am deeply saddened by the sudden death of our brother and friend, Mratyred Raisi, the Foreign Minister and his team. The whole nation is in sympathy with Iranian brothers and sisters. Recently I held the honor and opportunity of meeting the late Iranian President martyred Ebrahim Raisi, he was a noble soul, a scholar, and a true friend of Pakistan. The whole Islamic Ummah has lost a great leader." 219
