A CNG tanker lost control on the Abuja-Keffi highway at Karu bridge, trapping cars and their occupants. The resulting fire immediately engulfed several vehicles, with occupants unable to escape.

In October 2024, Iran Press reported the death of over 150 people in a tanker explosion in Jigawa State in the North Western of the country.
