Haitham Al Ghais, the Secretary General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) sent a message expressing his condolences over the death of dozens of the visitors of Shahcheragh Holy Shrine in the southern city of Shiraz by a terrorist attack last week.

Iran PressEurope: “It is with great sadness that we learned of the tragic terrorist attack on the Shahcheragh Shrine in the city of Shiraz late Wednesday during the evening prayer time,” he said in the message directed to Iranian Minister of Petroleum Javad Owji, adding: “On behalf of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), the Secretariat and me personally, I would like to convey our most heartfelt condolences to Your Excellency and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

“Our thoughts and prayers also go out to the families and loved ones of the over 13 people martyred and dozens wounded during this cowardly attack. May Allah grant you the strength and patience to overcome this difficult time and may He protect you from such acts of terrorism and crime,” Mr. Al Ghais further said in the message.
