IP - Upon the arrival of President Raisi to Nicaragua, attendance observed one-minute silence for the late commander of the IRGC Quds forces commander, Lt. Gen Soleimani.

Iran PressAmerica: At the official ceremony attended by Daniel Ortega, the President of Nicaragua, senior officials and the people of Managua the capital city of the country invited and hosted President Raisi and Iranian high-ranking officials, attendance observed a one-minute silence to honor Iranian Martyr Lt. General Soleimani, Late commander of the IRGC Quds Forces commander and the hero of the fight against terrorism.

President Raisi entered Nicaragua after the end of his trip to Venezuela, to develop and deepen relations with Nicaragua.

Ebrahim Raisi arrived in Managua on Wednesday morning and was welcomed by his Nicaraguan counterpart in the Freedom Square of the capital city. 

 It was on January 3, 2020, at 01:20 in the morning when Lt. Gen. Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), and Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) Second-in-Command Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were assassinated along with their companions in a US drone strike near Baghdad International Airport, authorized by the former US President Donald Trump.
