Tehran (IP)- The group of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa (BRICS) will for the first time attend the Iran Petrochemical Forum (IPF), announced a National Petrochemical Company (NPC) official here on Monday.

Iran PressIran News: The 14th Iran Petrochemical Forum will be held in Tehran from May 1-2.

NPC Planning and Development Director Hassan Abbaszadeh added, “The 14th IPF will provide a suitable opportunity for cooperation between domestic and foreign companies.”

The upcoming forum, he continued, will also help Iranian companies introduce their latest achievements and plans and the country’s new opportunities for investment in its petrochemical industry.

Abbaszadeh said the 14th Iran Petrochemical Forum will revolve around the completion of the value chain and balanced development of the industry.

Aiming to promote the scientific level of the upcoming forum and facilitate the country’s presence in new international markets, NPC had a consultation with the Foreign Ministry and carried out various measures, including the invitation of BRICS member states, said the official.

A number of expert-level sessions will be held during the forum, mentioned the director, adding BRICS members have been scheduled to discuss Iran’s cooperation with the group.

According to him, Iranian ambassadors and political and trade representatives will participate in sessions during the two-day forum to explore all avenues to boost energy diplomacy, develop the petrochemical industry, end the sale of raw materials, and attain greater self-sufficiency.
