Tehran (IP) – President of Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences says that the Noora COVID vaccine is homemade.

Iran PressIran news: In a ceremony held on Monday morning at the University of Medical Sciences affiliated to the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), the Noora COVID vaccine was added to the national corona vaccination basket.

Noora is an Iranian domestically developed and produced recombinant protein type COVID vaccine.

The President of the Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences, Hassan Abolghasemi, stated at the ceremony that the Noora vaccine had boosted self-belief among Iranian scientists, especially amid the imposed sanctions.

He believes that the vaccine will prevent the COVID-19 death toll and hospitalization since, during the Omicron surge, Iran has witnessed the lowest rates of death in comparison with western countries.

Highlighting that enemies have tried to question Iranians' autonomy despite the sanctions, Abolghasemi pointed out that Iranians have successfully produced various COVID vaccines by putting all available internal capacities into practice.

He regarded the Noora vaccine as a promising achievement.

The Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences president underlined that the Noora vaccine has no side effects and produces a high level of immunity.
