Tehran (IP) - The Director of Health, Safety, Environment and Passive Defense of the National Petrochemical Company said the earthquake this morning in Khuzestan and Bushehr provinces did not cause any damage to petrochemical complexes and projects.

Iran PressIran News: An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale, at 11:11 a.m. Sunday, April 19, shook the border between Fars and Bushehr provinces (Bandar Genaveh and Deylam regions), Shana reported.

Fortunately, due to the existence of the desired infrastructure, no accidents or damage have occurred in the petrochemical complexes and projects of the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone, Pars Energy Special Economic Zone, and other areas the provinces.

Davood Emadi stated: "While providing sustainable feedstock to the plants, the complexes are operating normally."

The National Seismological Center of the Institute of Geophysics of the University of Tehran has announced the epicenter of the earthquake near the port of Genaveh and at a depth of 10 km. The epicenter was reported at 50.72 longitudes and 29.76 latitudes, 28 km from Genaveh and 91 km from Bushehr.
