Tehran (IP): Iran's Judiciary Spokesman stated that no one had the right to violate prisoners' rights and if it happened, they would be prosecuted.

Iran PressIran news: Referring to the recent Evin Prison CCTV footage leak and the mistreatment of the prisoners, Zabihullah Khodaeian says that the act is against the law and the judiciary deals with the offenders, and following the case, six people were identified, and other suspects are prosecuted as well.

Khodaeian in his first press conference held on Tuesday slammed the mistreatment of prisoners in the released Evin Prison CCTV footage.

The Judiciary Chief pays special attention to protecting the rights of prisoners, said the spokesman.

Referring to the prosecution of the perpetrators of the assassination of Martyred General Qasem Soleimani, he said that Iran and Iraq inked an agreement to pursue his assassination during the former Judiciary chief's visit to Iraq last year, and based on the agreement, the judiciaries of the two countries would cooperate to follow up on the case.

He added that 45 Americans and some Iraqi accomplices were under prosecution.

Because the Judiciary monitors the law, it should be obliged to respect the law more than other sectors, Khodaeian said.

Khodaeian added that the judiciary is also trying to be transparent in reflecting the facts. He reiterated that the judiciary did its best to have the best possible interaction with media outlets, especially domestic media.
