Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova

There is no convincing evidence in a UN report on Iran's alleged involvement in the attack on Saudi oil fields, the Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman said on Wednesday.

Iran PressEurope: Maria Zakharova told at a weekly news conference at the Russian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday that the staff at the United Nations Secretariat that has compiled the UN Secretary-General's report on Iran's involvement in the attack on Saudi oil facilities, was not allowed to do so.

The Russian official also said that three European countries tried to launch a trigger mechanism last January based on baseless information about Iran, but the Joint Commission of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) did not approve the move.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres claimed in a report that cruise missiles used in attacks on Aramco oil facilities and the international airport in Saudi Arabia last year had an "Iranian origin".

Following the missile and drone strike by the Yemeni forces against the Aramco oil facility in the east of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh and Washington claimed that the weapons used in the operation were made in Iran.

Iran has denied any involvement in the Aramco attacks and issued a stern warning that it would retaliate any attack.
