Iran Press/ Health: New Zealand reported 981 new community cases of COVID-19 on Monday, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
Among the 981 new community infections, 768 are in the largest city of Auckland, 82 in nearby Waikato, six in the capital city Wellington, 19 in the Southern region, 21 in Northland, 23 in the Bay of Plenty, 12 in the Lakes region, and 14 in Hutt Valley, according to the ministry.
In addition, 25 new cases were detected at the New Zealand border, said the ministry.
There are 39 patients in New Zealand hospitals with no one being treated at intensive care units.
New Zealand reported a total of 21,195 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
About 95 percent of the eligible population have been vaccinated with at least two shots in the country.
New Zealand is currently at the highest Red settings under the COVID-19 Protection Framework. At Red settings, face masks become mandatory in many indoor environments and gatherings are limited to 100 people.
Libya reports 3,648 new COVID-19 cases, 12 more deaths
Libya reported 3,648 new infections and 12 more deaths on Sunday, bringing the total caseload to 470,314 and the national death toll to 6,125, said the country's National Center for Disease Control.
The new cases were identified after 12,714 tests were carried out over the last 24 hours, the center said.
Meanwhile, 5,409 more recoveries were registered in the past day, taking the total number of recoveries to 418,279, it said.
A total of 2,095,217 people in Libya have received one COVID-19 vaccine dose while 1,045,251 have received two, and 45,131 have got a booster shot, it added.
Brazil registers 54,220 new COVID-19 cases
Brazil registered 54,220 COVID-19 infections and 314 deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing its nationwide counts to 27,479,963 and 638,362, respectively, the National Council of Health Secretaries said Sunday.
The national seven-day moving average of deaths reached 881, while that of daily infections stood at 135,279.
As of Saturday, 152.4 million people nationwide had been fully vaccinated, and 55.3 million had received a booster shot, according to official data.
Brazil has the world's second highest COVID-19 death toll, only after the United States, and the world's third largest caseload, following the United States and India.
