Iran Press/ Iran News: In his Thursday tweet, Hossein Amirabdollahian said: "White House's clear face of state terrorism Donald Trump has gone and made room for Biden-Harris."
Pointing to the fact that the JCPOA is now nothing but a bunch of paper, he said: "Change to the US longstanding hostile attitude & sanctions removal is vital. What matters to the Iranian nation is the real behavior of the new WH occupants."
The fate of the Iran Nuclear Deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is now hanging in the balance after the European co-signatories — France, Britain, and Germany — failed to counter the anti-Iran sanctions as required by the agreement, prompting Tehran to scale back parts of its commitments in retaliation.
Trump’s successor, Joe Biden, has pledged to rejoin the accord if Iran returns to compliance.
However, on Tuesday, Biden’s nominee for secretary of state Antony Blinken told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that Washington did not face a quick decision on whether to rejoin the JCPOA, saying: “We are a long way from there.”
