Tehran (IP) - The Spokesman for the Iranian government calling the development of cooperation with neighbors the main policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said: "We seek to deepen relations with Baghdad."

Iran PressIran News: Speaking in his weekly press conference on Tuesday, "Ali Rabiei said: "Today we have the visit of the Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi to Tehran, and we hope to have constructive and effective talks aimed at deepening relations between the two countries and to be able to work well so that we can map out our future collaboration's framework and deepen the cooperation that the two nations with a common culture have had over the past years."

Welcoming al-Kazemi and his accompanying delegation, he added: "They are entering the country in a situation where the policy of vis-a-vis neighbors has entered a new arena as a basic strategy in our foreign policy, and comprehensive development and effective communication with neighbors have been the main priorities of the government through these years."

Responding to the question on the possibility of Russia to have a long-term agreement with Iran like China, Rabiei said: "We have already announced that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to interact with all interested countries, and Russia is one of them. We have no limit for interaction."

Regarding Iraq's mediation to improve relations between Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United States, Rabiei stressed: "Iraqi PM al-Kazemi's visit to Tehran is aimed at strengthening Iran-Iraq relations, and I emphasize that we also have a strategic history. The elimination of ISIS and the elimination of environmental threats and currency exchanges are important bilateral issues. We welcome all proposals, but debates regarding the US is a different issue."

The government spokesman stressed: "We will definitely pursue real legal action and punish the perpetrators of the assassination of top Iranian Commander Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, but that we cannot confirm the announcement of any name." 

Foreign nationals covered by health insurance

Referring to two Cabinet approvals in recent weeks, Iranian Government Spokesman Ali Rabiei noted, "Health insurance coverage for foreigners residing in the country is approved by the Cabinet, meaning that all foreigners residing in the country are covered under the plan and can use health insurance. Of course, they have to pay definitely per capita for medical services."

Rabiei added: "In addition to humanitarian work, this project will provide timely treatment to foreign nationals and promote community health."

Rabiei went on to say: "Fortunately, the health behavior of the people has improved. People's behavior should not change as the death toll increases and decreases, but public behavior should continue for a long time."

The Government Spokesman referred to the better effect of using masks by people these days compared to days in April, adding, "Today, people's health observance has increased significantly and the use of masks in communities has increased by 62%, in offices by 82% and in manufacturing industries by 78%."

Rabiee reiterated, "Coronavirus infection and death rate due to that increased at a time when health protocols had decreased by 22%, but now the protocol compliance has increased to 45% and we must all help the community by following the health protocols."
