Iran Press/Iran news: "Invasion and intervention by other parties is not a good idea to resolve the issue," Chairman of the Executive Council of the World IPU in Iran's Parliament said.
In a telephone conversation with Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union of Armenia and Vice Speaker of the Parliament, Naderi said: Dialogue to resolve disputes should be based on the principle of coexistence.
Naderi noted that the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia should end the conflict as soon as possible, using all regional and international capacities, and contributing to establishing lasting peace and security in the region.
Hovhannisyan also praised Iran's efforts, saying, "Iran plays a pivotal role in the region in terms of peace and security, and Yerevan welcomes the offer of a ceasefire."
The Chairman of the Executive Council of the World IPU in Iran's Parliament on Friday, also called Adel Aliyev, Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union of the National Assembly of the Republic Azerbaijan (Azerbaijani Milli Məclis), expressing concern over the recent clashes.
The Nagorno-Karabakh clashes broke out on September 27, re-igniting a decades-old conflict between the ex-Soviet neighbors over Karabakh and threatening to draw in regional powers Russia and Turkey.
The conflict between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia over the Nagorno-Karabakh region, which belongs to the Republic of Azerbaijan, began in 1988. It escalated into a military war in 1992.
