Mourners in some countries of the Asia-Pacific region mourned on the night of Ashura commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS).

Iran Press/Asia: The day before Ashura is called Tasua which is the 9th day of Muharram. Shia Muslims and other people from different religions, try to commemorate this day more than the first eight days of Muharram as Tasua is attributed to mourning for Imam Hussain’s brother, Abbas (AS), although he was martyred on the day of Ashura like the other Imam Hussain’s companions.

According to the report of the Iran Press news agency from Southeast Asia, Shiites and followers of Imam Hussain(AS), especially Iranians living in Australia, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia at night of Ashura observed the mourning rituals of Muharram.
