Tehran (IP) - Iran's Minister of Health announced that one million and 200 health tourists visited Iran last year (1401).

Iran PressIran News: Bahram Eynollahi told the reporters on Sunday: Health tourism permits have been given to 240 hospitals.

He added that the Ministry of Health appoints health advisors in countries with a high number of referrals to Iran.

Eynollahi also stated that he has met with 20 health ministers in the last two years to strengthen relations.

Pointing out that medicine is the second most important way of trade in the world after oil, he said: We are looking to create facilities for the production of medicine and we must try to export medicine.

The Minister of Health also said: All foreign nationals and nearly two million five hundred thousand people got COVID jabs for free.

The Minister of Health added: Iran has been among the successful countries in controlling coronavirus and produced six types of coronavirus vaccines.
