Iran Press/ Iran news: The Mexican ambassador to Iran, Guillermo Alejandro Ponte, and the President of the Iranian Tennis Federation, Davood Azizi, met and stressed increasing sports cooperation between the two countries, including tennis.
Davood Azizi, in a meeting with the Mexican ambassador to Iran, said that there is a readiness to implement joint programs with the Mexican Tennis Federation.
Davood Azizi also considered the holding of the Diplomat Cup tennis tournament as one of the programs of this federation and said: "This event was supposed to be held last year (2020) due to the interest of ambassadors and diplomats, but the corona pandemic delayed it, but due to the positive attitude of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we are planning to hold this event."
The Mexican ambassador to Iran also said: "I am interested in the development of sports relations between Iran and Mexico, especially in the fields of tennis and football, and in this regard, I will do my best and certainly the development of relations will lead to more prosperity in sports."
