In the First Minaret International Conference

Tehran (IP) - Media activists participating in the First Minaret International Conference emphasized the need for a better convergence between the media outlets to strengthen the unity among Muslims across the world.

Iran PressIran news: The First Minaret International Conference was held on Monday focusing on media and Islamic unity with the presence of Iranian and foreign media managers, professors, scholars of communication sciences, and media activists.

In this ceremony, Hamid Shahriari, the secretary general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, considered the privatization of the media as a way to counter the enemy's conspiracy to create division among Muslims and emphasized: "We must promote critical thinking among ourselves and to the opponents and critics. Let them express their opinions."

He also told the reporters on the side: "The media can be both an opportunity and a threat. Therefore, the media should pay attention to high human values; In this case, the media can fulfill their mission in sending the message of truth to the world." 

As another speaker of this event, Ibrahim Farhat, director of Almanar network, emphasized the need for unity among political and media leaders and said: "The media must be free, alive and active, and this requires a common understanding and vision and unity among political and media leaders.

Mustafa Yilmaz, director of Turkey's TV5, told Iran Press: "We, Islamic countries, must have our own reasonable and strategic strategies to deal with the enemies' media flow."

On the sidelines of this ceremony, Marzieh Hashemi, Press TV's senior correspondent, in an interview with Iran Press, stated that the enemies are seeking to destroy Islamic values and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and said: "It is very important for us to be able to work toghether especially now that the Islamic world is under such attack. We see that quite easily they show the burning of Quran."

Zainab Farhat, a Lebanese media activist, also said in an interview with Iran Press that the media can convey the message of support of Muslim nations to the oppressed nations of the world, such as Palestine, and in this way, it will cause empathy and unity among Muslims.
