In the statement, Major General Mohammad Baqeri pointed to war-mongering stances of the US administration and on top of them unwise president, underlined Iran's armed forces under leadership of commander-in-chief , Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and National Security Council, will react firmly and decisively to every kind of threat, ensuring deterrence.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump, in a new tweet on Monday (July 23), reacted to recent remarks by President Hassan Rouhani of Iran who had warned Washington against taking a hostile approach towards Iran.
He chose capital letters to convey his message, something which well demonstrated his fury at what President Rouhani said on Sunday in a reference to the US hostile approach towards Iran: 'Do not play with fire.
The statement said; Iranians never started any war and Iran has always been flag-bearer of peace, stability and calm in the region and has used its defensive might and deterrence power to help establish peace and ward off every kind of violation in the region.
Earlier, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that US sanctions creates problems for people’s lives in Iran and is international crime.
“Today, we are at a point in time that strong will of the two nations and governments are against powers that are seeking to deprive the human society of their rights,” Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said at the meeting of businessmen of Iran and Austria on Wednesday in Vienna.
"Some powers are trying to deprive people of their rights and national interests and it is our duty to stand against unlawfulness and unilateralism", President Rouhani added.
