Iran press/Iran news:In a message on Sunday 2 September 2018, Ayatollah Khamenei praised Iran's athletes for their performance in the 2018 Asian Games, held in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, from August 18 to September 2 , reported Tasnim news agency.
The following is the text of Leader’s message:
“In the Name of God.
Dear medal winners of the athletic squad;
I congratulate all of you and thank you all.
You delighted the Iranian nation and brought glory to our honourable flag.
Seyyed Ali Khamenei
2 September 2018”
Iran came sixth in the medal standings of the 2018 Asian Games with 62 medals, including 20 gold, 20 silver and 22 bronze.
Asian Games is the world's second-biggest multi-sport event after the summer Olympics.
