The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei , has said officials must respect the security and privacy of the users of Iranian messaging apps.

As part of Iranian new year visits, a group of officials met with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah  Seyyed Ali Khamenei, on Monday.

Speaking at this meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei noted that violating the security and privacy of individuals is “Haram” (or religiously forbidden) and warned officials against such action.

Voicing satisfaction with the public call for having a domestic instant messaging application, Ayatollah Khamenei said: “Those who are responsible and judicial officials must be vigilant and careful not to allow the private information and secrets of people to be  disclosed.”

The Leader also called for strong and vigorous sort-out of the business environment in Iran as an infrastructure of country’s economy and said, “Doing this job is up to the executive Committee of Resistance Economy and they are doing their best but more work is needed and energetic efforts  should be spent on this cause.” 

Prior to the Leader's speech,  Es’hagh Jahangiri, Iran's  First Vice-President, thanked the Leader for designating this  year as the year of “Supporting Iranian products” and added that the slogan needs to be put into  practice.
