Iran parliament speaker Ali Larijani says the enemies of Syria are resorting to political pressure following their military failure in the Arab country.

ََMiddle East: According to Iran Press, in his meeting with a visiting Syrian parliamentary delegation, Larijani expressed hope that the remaining terrorists be annihilated to swiftly begin the reconstruction of Syria.

The Iranian speaker said the Syrian government and nation endured many difficulties during the war and there exists certain new problems politically but the answer to both situations is resistance.

Larijani lauded the Syrian government and nation's resistance as well as president Bashar al Assad's leadership, noting that both people and authorities have been taking dignified positions.

Referring to political negotiations underway as part of Astana talks, Iranian parliament speaker said the countries which were once seeking to break the Syrians' resistance they are exerting political pressure, but generally speaking the Astana process is developing well and there is the hope that the Syrian nation's interests are realized at the end of the day.

Earlier on August 30, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that consequences of the West’s potential aggression against Syria will be inevitable and this will deal a heavy blow both to the settlement and global stability.

Larijani predicted that the Syrian government would be making more achievements as they move forward, adding the Islamic Republic will be doing what it can to uphold the Syrian nation and government's supremacy.

For his part, the deputy head of the Syrian-Iranian Parliamentary Friendship Group said just those who stood beside the Syrian nation during the war could be participating in the reconstruction of Syria.

Sin Raghib Hussain referred to the sanctions imposed against Iran by the supporters of global terrorism, saying that the Iranian and Syrian nations have proved that they are ambassadors of peace and friendship in the world and they are actually fighting the darkness despite the fact that they are defending their countries.

The Syrian official slammed U.S unilateralism against Iran, saying that the Iranian nation will be able to resolve this problem (the sanctions) under the leadership of Ayatollah Khamenei. 206/103
