Tehran (IP) – Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Integration and the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) CEO discussed the two countries' energy cooperation capacities.

Iran PressIran news: Heading a delegation, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Integration Bakhyt Sultanov arrived in Tehran for a two-day visit to discuss Kazakhstan-Iran cooperation issues.

In the meeting, the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company, Mohsen Khojastemehr, stated that there is reasonable ground for energy cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan, noting that Iran intends to realize the two countries' potential.

He pointed out that given Kazakhstan's desire to cooperate with Iran's oil industry, experts from the two countries are set to explore areas for cooperation in developing heavy oil fields, mining, oil and gas swaps, and oil products, and exporting technical and engineering services.

Khojastemehr highlighted that the talks between the two countries' experts would eventually lead to a memorandum of cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan.
