Iran Press/West Asia: Al-Golani made the comments in an interview with Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya, claiming, “The liberation of Syria ensures the security of the whole region and [the Persian] Gulf for the coming 50 years.”
On the subject of Russia, Jolani struck a cautious tone, indicating he did not wish for Moscow to depart Syria in a manner unbefitting its relationship with Syria.
Jolani suggested that HTS would ultimately disband as part of a broader “national dialogue conference.”
He also expressed hope that the incoming administration of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump would lift sanctions on Syria, hinting at a potential shift in HTS's relationship with international powers.
Jolani addressed Iran’s involvement in the region, calling on Tehran to reconsider its policies. He asserted that Tehran must align with what he called "the Syrian people.”
The HTS leader reserved particular praise for Saudi Arabia’s role in Syria’s transition period. “I am proud of everything Saudi Arabia has done for Syria,” Jolani remarked.
