Iran Press/ Europe: In an interview with the Russian newspaper 'Izvestia' on Monday, Mikhail Ulyanov stated that there had been an interruption in the Vienna talks since June 20, noting that the interruption was initially expected to 10 days, but this prediction did not materialize.
He said the exact date of the negotiations on the nuclear deal is still unknown, and the talks will resume after the Iranian new president takes office.
Ulyanov added that the new Iranian administration might change its stance on some issues in the negotiations.
"We do not know what changes in Iran's approach may occur with the formation of new administration. It should not be ruled out that the Iranian side will change its stance on some of the issues discussed in the Vienna talks. We are not aware of these changes at the moment," he said.
He underlined that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) could only be revived in its original state, and a new deal would not be possible.
"In our view, there is no alternative to reviving the JCPOA other than what was originally agreed," he pointed.
Following the unilateral and illegal withdrawal of the United States from the JCPOA on May 8, 2018, by US former President Donald Trump's order, Iran tried to maintain the nuclear agreement, provided that the other parties to the agreement adhered to their obligations, but the Europeans failed in the practical measures to maintain the agreement.
