Iran Press/West Asia: According to reports from the state news agency Wafa on Sunday, a military vehicle collided with a car carrying five teachers near the village of Ein al-Beida in the northern Jordan Valley, resulting in injuries to the teachers, who were promptly taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
Additionally, in separate incidents, illegal Israeli settlers were reported to have cut down olive trees in the town of Battir west of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank.
Zaki al-Batta, a former mayor of Battir, stated that 12 olive trees were destroyed in the Al-Khammar area, marking the fourth attack on the region in recent days.
The settlers reportedly damaged the fence of the targeted land and cut down trees near the Nahal Haletz settlement outpost.
Furthermore, in the nearby town of Nahalin, illegal settlers established a new outpost on lands in the Ein Faris area west of the town, erecting two tin houses for livestock, as reported by Wafa citing the mayor of Nahalin, Jamal Najajra.
Najajra expressed concerns that the outpost would restrict Palestinian farmers and shepherds from accessing their lands in the Ein Faris area, which covers approximately 2,000 dunams. Over the past years, the Israeli military has conducted frequent raids in the occupied West Bank, with an escalation noted since the commencement of the conflict in Gaza on October 7, 2023.
Palestinians have also faced violent attacks from illegal settlers. As per data from the Palestinian Health Ministry, at least 837 Palestinians have been killed and over 6,700 wounded by Israeli army gunfire in the occupied territory. In July 2024, the International Court of Justice ruled Israel's prolonged occupation of Palestinian land as illegal and called for the evacuation of all existing settlements in the occupied West Bank and East Quds.
