In response to recent threats from Israeli officials, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Lebanon Mohammad Jalal Firuznia stated that if this regime launches a new adventure against Lebanon, it will have to wait for a strong reaction.

Iran PressMiddle East: After meeting with Abdul Latif Derian, the Sunni Mufti of Lebanon, Firuznia said: “Iran's aid to Lebanon includes all Lebanese groups and classes. We stand by all Lebanese people. In this meeting, we also stressed the need to strengthen national and Islamic unity.”

He also stressed that "In the current situation, Lebanon desperately needs national unity, and we also need the manifestation of unity in the Islamic world."

Answering a question about the possibility of an Israeli invasion of Lebanon, Firuznia noted: "We do not think the Zionist regime is in a position to commit such a stupidity against Lebanon. It is impossible for the enemy to have forgotten the defeat of the July 2006 war. Therefore, if Israel launches a new adventure against Lebanon, it will have to wait for a strong reaction.”

The Iranian ambassador to Lebanon also said that the axis of resistance is stronger than ever and there are many victories ahead of this axis.

"Lebanon's neutral stance is a matter for this country itself, and we believe that all ideas should go in the direction of strengthening Lebanon's national unity," Firuznia concluded.

Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, threatened Syria and Lebanon on Sunday (yesterday), saying Damascus and Beirut were responsible for any attacks on Israel from the two countries.
